How should different foods be stored?
May 02,2023 | Rsdnlife
If the purchased food has a packaging label, it can be stored according to the storage method suggested on the label. If not, different methods can be adopted according to different foods
Staple food
Rice noodles, grains, oils, dried fruits, dried vermicelli, etc. should be packed in clean and dry containers, and placed in a cool, ventilated, and dry place indoors, avoiding high temperature and light.
Some cooked staple foods such as steamed buns, sesame seed cakes, bread, etc., should be placed in fresh-keeping bags and refrigerated in the refrigerator. If they exceed 2 days, they should be sealed and frozen.
Quick-frozen food should be kept frozen. If the package is damaged or opened, seal it well to avoid drying or fat oxidation.

Fruits and vegetables
It is recommended not to buy too much at one time, especially green leafy vegetables. It is best to eat up the purchase within 2-3 days.
Vegetables should be stored in a refrigerated environment, and the time should not exceed one week; potatoes should be stored in a cool indoor place away from light; fruits such as apples and pears can be stored in a refrigerated place or in a cool indoor place.
Some southern fruits such as dragon fruit, banana, mango, etc. can be stored in a cool place. If they are stored in cold storage, they should not be stored for too long, as they are prone to frostbite.
During storage, pay attention to pick out moldy and rotten food in time to avoid expanding pollution.

Meat, egg and milk food
Fresh meat can be kept refrigerated if it is eaten on the same day after purchase. Otherwise, it needs to be cut into small portions and stored separately, and try to avoid repeated thawing.
The shelf life of fresh eggs is greatly affected by temperature, and they can be stored in the refrigerator for 40-60 days, but be careful not to wash them with water before refrigeration to avoid damage to the pores and cause deterioration; if stored in a cool place indoors and the temperature does not exceed 15°C The period is about 30 days.
The milk marked "can be stored at room temperature" on the outer packaging can be stored at room temperature for about 30-60 days; the milk marked "requires low temperature storage" should be stored in cold storage, and the shelf life is about 3-5 days.

Leftovers
Foods that cannot be eaten, such as homemade fruit wine, cakes, leftovers, etc., should be sealed in containers or food bags, stored in the refrigerator, and eaten as soon as possible.
fresh soy food
Freshly made tofu, soy milk and other soy products in the market should be eaten on the same day. If the soy products are sour, and the surface of tofu, dried tofu, etc. is very sticky or inelastic, it means that it has deteriorated and cannot be eaten.
Fresh aquatic products
It is recommended to buy and eat now. Buy dried aquatic products, such as dried shrimps, dried cuttlefish, etc., which can be refrigerated; chilled products, such as hairtail, small yellow croaker, etc., can be frozen.
